Chuck Mead, Jason Ringenberg and Jim Lauderdale will take you on a Cosmic Honky Tonk musical adventure as they swap songs, share stories, a band and the stage. These three trailblazers have been at the forefront, helping to shape the genres of Rockabilly, Cowpunk, Alt-Country, Roots and Classic Country that collectively encompass the current neo-traditional country movement having paved the way for many current artists in this vast Americana landscape.
Chuck Mead is a Country singer with a rock n roll heart. He’s also a renowned songwriter, producer, music director, and musicologist. He’s best known for co-founding the famed ‘90s Alternative Country quintet, BR5-49, whos 7 albums garnered a CMA Award for Best International Touring Act and three Grammy nominations, helped build an indelible bridge between authentic American Roots music and millions of fans worldwide.
Jim Lauderdale is an American country, bluegrass, and Roots singer-songwriter. He has released more than 30 albums and ” his songs have been recorded by dozens of artists, notably George Strait, Gary Allan, Elvis Costello, Blake Shelton, the Dixie Chicks, Vince Gill, and Patty Loveless. Most recently, Lauderdale was honored in Nashville at the Americana Honors and Awards show with the WagonMaster Lifetime Achievement Award.
Jason Ringenberg was born and raised on an Illinois hog farm that bordered the Rock Island Line Railroad. When he left for Nashville to pursue his dream of “making a band that could kick American roots music into the modern age!” little did he know just how far that kick would go. Performing both solo and as a founding member of Jason & The Scorchers band he has been called “one of the most exciting performers of his generation.”
