COLD BREWS AND MOUNTAIN VIEWS ON THE RAILS & ALES TRAIN
The best mountaintop Brewfest only accessible by train returns for its 14 season in partnership with the San Luis Valley Brewing Company!
Rails & Ales combines some of our favorite things: classic rail equipment, rustic Rocky Mountain setting, live music, smoking hot BBQ and handcrafted brews from the region’s best. There’s just something so special about hopping on a train with friends to the wide open space we call Fir to a mountain meadow and our rustic stage surrounded by 360 degrees of pure Colorado views.
The Rails & Ales Brewfest brings together brewers and their devoted fans, a hardy group that understands the simple truth of this event – you only get here by rail and it doesn’t get any better than this.
You may pick up your tickets any time after 12pm noon on Friday. We recommend collecting your tickets early in order to avoid the long line on Saturday Morning. The ticket window is open late until 9:00pm on Friday evening. So come get your tickets Friday and then go enjoy the Block Party at San Luis Valley Brewing. We will re-open at 7:00am on Saturday Morning. The Depot is located at 610 State Ave.
Boarding: Allow extra time (1 hour prior to departure) to go through the boarding process because there is a liability form to sign and we issue a wristband and complementary pint glass. All bags are subject to search, which takes a bit of time, but we will get everyone on board!
Beer is available for purchase on the train on the way to the event. Beer at the event is included in your ticket price. The train ride home is “dry” but there are plenty of snacks and water available on board. Remember that we will be at 9400’. At that elevation the beer hits harder and faster than what you might be used to. So pace yourself for a good time. Our goal is for everyone to have a safe and enjoyable time.
Parking is located in the parking lot on 6th Street at the intersection of San Juan and 6th Street. It’s a big gravel lot. You can’t miss it. Please do not park at the Depot itself.
A really great attitude, super friendly, ready to have some fun.
A folding camp chair if you want one. We have a few for rent at the site. Please remember to clearly label your chair with your name and phone number because it will get mixed in with others.
Sunscreen and a light jacket, you never know about the weather….
Good sturdy shoes. Avoid open toes or flip flops. This is for train safety, your safety, and your general comfort. Trust us.
Bring cash for food. A hot BBQ lunch is available for purchase from the San Luis Brewing Company.
No private alcohol. No Pets or animals. No weapons. No coolers. No kids or minors. No drugs of any kind including marijuana. No jerks. No politics.
